Another quick brief that I found. It is to create a logo design for 'Harry's Bar & Grill'. They already have a website and asked us to refer to that to see what they want. They want it to be type-based from what I gather, which plays to my strengths.
After looking through the website I created the following design for them. I created a logo with a bit more character than they previously had, but kept the formal tone to it all.
Entering the submission:
While no feedback has been given yet I decided on creating another design because I wasn't too convinced I had got it right first time round. I wasn't too keen on the typeface used for the 'Harry's' or the dots that I put through the lines around 'bar & grill'. So I decided to take it in a different direction and make it much more contemporary.
Logo created:
I am much happier with this as a logo design than the previous one I created. It looks a lot more contemporary and a lot more professional than the previous one. To put it into context for the contest holder, I added it to a basic stationary kit.
I think this shows the design off in the best light possible and definitely shows how it could look in professional circumstances. I am much happier with this design than the previous one.
Second Submission:
Unfortunately my design wasn't chosen as the winning design. However doing this brief has shown me that getting it right the first time round isn't going to happen every time, and taking a bit more time to think about the brief is better for the final outcome instead of just diving straight into it.
